Quick answers to the questions people ask most. If yours isn't here, email support@getarcform.com.
The app
Which areas does ArcForm cover?
ArcForm builds strength and mobility plans around these areas:
- Neck
- Shoulders
- Chest
- Upper back
- Lower back
- Core
- Upper arm
- Elbow
- Forearm
- Wrist & hand
- Hip flexors
- Hip joint
- Glutes
- Groin
- Quads
- Hamstrings
- Knee
- Calf
- Shin
- Ankle
- Foot
You can also set up a plan to keep an area strong when nothing hurts.
It's coaching, not a diagnosis. If you've had a recent serious injury or surgery, or you have any of the serious signs on our safety page, get it checked by someone who can examine it first.
What if it hurts?
Tell the app. After each session you can say which exercise hurt, how much from 0 to 10, and what it felt like. Any pain stops that exercise getting harder. The more it hurts, the more the exercise is eased off. A 9 or 10 takes it to its easiest version, and the app tells you to get help.
If pain is high when you start, exercises are pain-limited: you go until the pain starts, and that becomes your line.
You can stop a session at any time. If pain is sharp, getting worse or worrying you, stop and see the safety page.
What kit do I need?
The most you'll need is a resistance band. ArcForm is built for home: your bodyweight, a band, and everyday things like a chair, a wall, a towel or a step.
Who is Arc?
Arc is the coach in the app. Arc is an AI, not a person. Arc runs the setup follow-ups, explains your plan, answers questions and writes your reports. Arc runs on Claude AI models made by Anthropic.
Arc can be wrong. Arc doesn't decide how your plan changes; fixed rules do. Arc explains the change and can pick how it's made within those rules.
There's a daily limit on messages to Arc. When you reach it, you can chat again the next day.
The camera
How accurate is the camera?
We haven't published an accuracy figure yet, and we won't until we've tested it properly.
The camera sees you from one angle, so some movements are easier to measure than others. It does best when it can clearly see the joints it's measuring. When it can't see you, it pauses counting and tells you. Some exercises aren't measured by the camera at all, and the app tells you when that's the case.
Where do I put my phone?
- For standing exercises, stand the phone upright. For floor exercises, turn it on its side and put it on the floor.
- Get your whole body in the frame, head to feet. The app shows an outline to stand in and tells you to step back or come closer.
- Some exercises need you side on to the camera. The app tells you which way to face.
- Fitted clothes help. Baggy clothes can hide your knees, hips or shoulders.
- A well-lit room with a plain background helps too.
Each set starts with a thumbs up to the camera. If you allow the microphone, you can say "go" instead.
Does ArcForm record video of me?
No. The camera picture is read on your phone, used to find your joints, and thrown away. No video or photos are saved or uploaded.
What's kept is numbers: reps, holds, angles and the positions of your joints. The privacy policy explains where they're stored.
Do I have to use the microphone?
No. It's optional. With it, you can talk to Arc instead of typing, and say "go" to start a set or "here" and "now" in a movement check. Without it, you tap instead.
Is it on Android?
Not yet. ArcForm is iPhone only for now, on iOS 17 or later.
Your subscription
How do I cancel?
Apple manages your subscription, so you cancel with Apple:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap ArcForm, then Cancel Subscription.
You can also get there from ArcForm: Settings, then Subscription, then Manage subscription.
Deleting the app doesn't cancel your subscription. To avoid being charged the full price after your first month, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I've got a new phone. How do I get my subscription back?
Sign in with the same Apple ID, open ArcForm, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.
Your data
How do I delete my data?
- Open ArcForm and go to Settings.
- Under Your data, tap Delete my account.
- Confirm.
This deletes your account and everything kept under it, on your phone and on our server: your profile, plans, sessions, check-ins and Arc's memory of you. It can't be undone. It doesn't cancel your subscription; see how to cancel.
You can also email privacy@getarcform.com and ask us to delete everything we hold about you.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. In ArcForm, go to Settings and tap Download my data. You can also email privacy@getarcform.com and we'll send it within one month. See the privacy policy for your other rights.
